One more thing that became apparent, the author edits out the parts of Greek Mythology she doesn't quite like and emphasises things she does like (it was most obvious in Oedipus Rex & The Odyssey).....which is another reason I dont like the re-telling of tales...the author; intentionally and un-intentionally creates the story they prefer. This included the assimilation of the gods and goddesses that were worshipped by other nations, especially those from ancient Greek mythology. It is stated that some traits of the Kraken resemble undersea volcanic activity in the Scandinavian region, including bubbles and currents.
